Is It for Reel

Ah summer, the time for BBQ's, talent shows, and averting natural disasters on the scale of the Hindenburg.  Yes, it's been 25 years since that summer camp classic, Wet Hot American Summer, premiered so our podders got together to see what sort of people they've blossomed into.  So throw on your shortest shorts, put on your favorite flannel, and get ready to be taught a new way!!!!

It's vacation season, so our podders started specifically searching for Airbnb's with pools adorned with space eggs.  That's right, they watched Cocoon.  So put on your best matching bermuda short/shirt combo, make sure your skin suit is fully buttoned up, and of course hit the gym to get that Guttenburg Bod!  Remember, you're only as old as the cocaine/ alien life force water you're swimming in.  Wilford Brimley!!!!!!!!!

It's springtime and love is in the air, so our podders wondered what it would look like if two desperate people decided to settle.  That's right, we watched Jerry Maguire, so who's coming with me? Who's coming with me! Grab your favorite mariachi wedding band, a big pile of money to show Cuba Gooding Jr, and of course that big ol' 8 pound head of yours.  And just like Lionel Ritchie says, you had me at Hello!!!!!!!!!

They say in space nobody can hear you scream. Well, Michael Bay doesn't think that's cool so shut up.  That's right we watched Armageddon.  So take your space madness pills, dim the lights in your NASA control rooms, and double check who has been using your animal crackers.  Remember astronauting is just gussied up oil drilling.  Now let's all sing the insomnia theme song!

The weather is getting warmer, the birds are chirping, and it's never been a better time to ask to speak to your manager.  That's right, our Podders watched White Chicks.  So get your crew at Industrial Light and Magic to drop you straight into the uncanny valley because it's time to go SHOPPING!!!!!!  Just remember to not stress about your huge bedonkey, everyone's beautiful. It's wild out there so go to your happy place and visualize Terry Crews popping and locking while singing every word to A Thousand Miles.  Scuse Me!!!!!! Hold my poodle!!!!!

As they say, music makes the world go round.  So our podders watched Empire Records.  Yoohoo!  So hike up your shirt till your belly button says no more, mon amour, be sure to hire an HR specialist at your orphanage/record store, and it goes without saying damn the man!!!!!!  Now, let's go save the rec(ord) center!!!!!!!!!!

It's time for the Super Bowl (ya we're not calling it the big game.  Come at us NFL!!!!), so we watched The Replacements.  Break out your teleprompters, brush up on Hoard Zinn's history of labor relations, and if your hair isn't flowing in the wind like peak Keanu, you're not spending enough time in the Baltimore Harbor. Pain heals (not with today's medical system), chicks dig scars (they don't dig being called chicks, though), glory last forever (Bruce Springsteen has a differing opinion).  Down, set, fun!!!!

It's been a helluva year, y'all.  So it's time to focus on family, good friends, and getting wine drunk till the reindeers come home.  That's right we watched A Vienyard Christmas.  So get ready for your Mystery Science Theater style interactive movie night.  Get the movie ready (netflix) and hit play when we say and find out if this Christmas movie will have secret murders, people turning into reindeer, and/or so many love triangles they invent a new shape (Ok, maybe we just have vivid imaginations). We're putting the màs back in Christmas, Y'all.  That's right we watched Just Friends and it's got 'how you say' more. So get ready for questionable fat suits, explicit retainers, and more tooth paste spewing than a David Lynch movie.  So get ready to have all of life's questions answered. Like... Is the friend zone real? Is foregiveness more than saying sorry? and What are you doing over at Joyce's?   Darla!!!!!!!!

It's turkey time so our podders of course checked their rolodex of Thanksgiving movies and watched Pieces of April.  Remember the first rule of Thanksgiving, make sure your food doesn't kill people, second rule is make sure your food doesn't kill people, third rule is be nice to your neighbors because you never know when you'll need their appliances.  Pass the cranberry sauce. We're having mashed potatoes. Ooh, the turkey looks great. Thank you for loving me.  Thank you for being there.  Kill the turkey!!!!
